General Practitioner is a new program certified by the Ministry of Health and Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs. It has a team of prestigious lecturers and modern facilities and is committed to bringing high-quality human resources to the health sector.
Dai Viet Saigon College proudly introduces the General Practitioner College program, licensed by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs under Certificate No. 02d/2020/GCNĐKBS-TCGDNN. This program was established to meet the urgent needs of the current health sector.
1. Urgent Needs and Development Orientation
The Law on Medical Examination and Treatment No. 15/2023/QH15, effective January 1, 2024, mandates an urgent upgrade for general practitioners to the college level. SExpressly from December 31, 2026, those with intermediate-level medical training degrees will not be granted a practice license for the title of medical practitioner. This strategic shift is aimed at enhancing the quality and professional capacity of the medical team, making the General Practitioner College Program a crucial opportunity for aspiring medical professionals.

5. Professional Competency of College-Level General Practitioner
College-level general practitioners are responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing common health problems, providing primary general care, monitoring health status, and advising and educating patients. Specific duties include:
- First Aid and Medical Examination: Participate in primary first aid, medical examination, and treatment at health stations, as well as community health management.
- General Care: Provide patients with regular health screenings and advice on nutrition and healthy lifestyles.

- Patient Management: Monitor progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and adjust care plans.
- Professional Referral: Refer patients to specialists when necessary and provide information and guidance on appropriate specialists.
- Counseling and Education: Counsel patients about health, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle.
- Disease Prevention: Timely detection and reporting of epidemics, participating in organizing disease prevention.
- Professional Training: Training professional knowledge for village and commune health workers and health/population collaborators.
- Consulting: Consulting the government and competent authorities in managing and implementing primary health care in the locality.
